Garden Club

The Garden Club · Founding Season, Fall 2026

The coast’s most personal way to garden.

One nursery, one coastline, one bed at a time. This isn’t a national plant subscription reshaped for California. It was built here, for the fog that rolls in by four and the shade a redwood actually throws, and only twelve Santa Cruz County gardens will be part of the first season.

Who this is for

“I want a garden, not a hobby that stresses me out.”

You’re busy. You still want something alive and worth tending, without a second job’s worth of research to keep it that way.

“I’ve killed more starts than I’d like to admit.”

Nothing was wrong with your care. The variety was wrong for this coast, or it went in the ground three weeks too late. That part is handled now.

“I just moved to the coast and nothing I knew still applies.”

Inland timing does not work here. Marine fog, redwood shade, and salt air rewrite the rules, and we already know the new ones.

Why It’s Worth It

The cost of guessing is higher than the club.

A single trip to a big-box nursery for a 4×8 bed easily runs past what the founding kit costs, and half of what comes home was never suited to this coast in the first place. The real expense was never the plants. It was the weekends spent researching, the wrong varieties, and the empty squares where something should be growing.

  • No more nursery trips that end in guesswork
  • No plants chosen for a climate that isn’t this one
  • No empty squares while you figure out what comes next
  • A bed that already knows the season, every month, all year

A Founding Program

Built for Santa Cruz County, and only Santa Cruz County.

Twelve founding gardens is a deliberate number, not a limitation. We’re growing every plant a few miles from where it gets planted, timing every delivery to marine fog and redwood shade instead of a national average, and getting every detail right in a dozen coastal backyards before this becomes anything bigger. This is a concierge-level growing partnership, not a subscription box that happens to ship here.

How it works

Seedling growing in soil

1. Prepare One Bed

One 4×8 bed, two grow-bag spots, six hours of sun, water within reach.

Hands cupping a small seedling

2. Start With Your Cohort

Your foundation kit arrives on launch day: living plants with an exact map, not a guess.

Calendar with laurel sprig

3. Keep Growing Monthly

At least eight living plants each month, mapped to the square, timed to the coast.

What’s in a box

Every monthly box carries at least eight healthy living plants selected for the coastal Mid-County season, each with an exact coordinate on your printed bed map. If weather makes a variety unsafe, we substitute the same crop category and quantity, or move delivery by a week. Your foundation kit sets the bed up correctly on day one; every box after that keeps it producing.

Is your yard ready?

We’d rather decline a garden the system can’t support than set it up to fail. Before the founding cohort opens, we’ll ask about:

  • One prepared 4×8 bed and two grow-bag spots
  • At least six hours of direct sun and reliable water
  • Protection from deer and gophers
  • A spot within Aptos, Rio del Mar, Seascape, Soquel, Capitola, or select Live Oak addresses

Twelve spots. One coast built for this.

Join the list and we’ll let you know the moment your cohort opens.

Plant good. Grow well.
