Welcome to Forest Girl Farm 2025: A Season of Growth and Purpose

Hello, friends! It’s a brand-new year at Forest Girl Farm, and I’m thrilled to kick off our 2025 season with you. There’s something magical about the start of a new growing season…the smell of fresh soil, the excitement of seeds sprouting, and the promise of a bountiful year ahead. Here on the farm, we’re diving headfirst into our biggest plans yet, blending hard work, creativity, and a whole lot of love into everything we do.

Planting the Seeds for a Bright Year

We’ve wasted no time getting started this season. Six trays of seedlings are already nestled into their warm, sunny spots, each one a tiny but mighty promise of what’s to come. That’s 432 plants! Among them, you’ll find stock flowers with their delicate, dreamy scent; bright, cheery marigolds; peas that will climb and reach for the sun; and, of course, our beloved tomatoes, destined to burst with summer flavor. Each seedling represents not just a plant, but a step toward the vision I’ve dreamed of for Forest Girl Farm.

The Forest Girl Farm 2025 Vision

This year, Forest Girl Farm is all about purpose and growth. We’re staying true to our roots while expanding in ways that make a meaningful impact—on our family, our community, and the earth. Here’s what’s on the horizon:

• Edible Flowers: Our edible flower project is blooming into something truly special. This year, we’ll focus on growing and harvesting 11 varieties, carefully curated to bring beauty and flavor to your table. Whether in a salad, a cake, or a cocktail, these flowers are a way to bring joy to everyday moments.

• Sustainability in Action: We’re continuing to work toward a fully sustainable farm. From composting to thoughtful planting rotations, every decision we make is with the land in mind. I want Forest Girl Farm to be a place where nature thrives as much as our crops do.

• A Year-Round Garden: Growing in USDA Zone 9b has its perks, and we’re making the most of it with a year-round planting plan. This includes vegetables, cut flowers, tea herbs, and so much more to ensure something is always growing and thriving here.

• Connection Through Creativity: Our Bits N Bobs craft exchange is gearing up for its monthly swaps at the Aptos library, and it’s such a joy to see our community coming together to create and share. This year, I’ll also be putting more energy into documenting our journey through TikTok and social media to bring you along on this adventure.

Planting with Purpose

Every seed we plant this year carries a sense of purpose. With my dad’s recent cancer diagnosis, our family has shifted to a plant-based lifestyle inspired by Blue Zone principles. Growing food on Forest Girl Farm isn’t just about feeding our bodies… it’s about nurturing our souls and creating a legacy of health, love, and togetherness for the generations to come.

Let’s Grow Together

As I plant and tend these trays of tiny seedlings, I can’t help but feel a deep sense of gratitude for the opportunity to grow. This farm is more than soil and seeds; it’s a reflection of the life we’re building… a life rooted in nature, family, and purpose. I hope you’ll follow along as Forest Girl Farm blossoms this year. Whether you’re here for gardening inspiration, edible flower ideas, or just a dose of farm life, I’m so glad you’re part of this journey.

Here’s to a year of growth, beauty, and abundance…together.

With love and gratitude,

Sabrina
