Though the garden outside looks dreary and drab now, I know it is simply sleeping under a cozy blanket of rain.

The pitter-patter of raindrops taps against the windows as I curl up in my favorite armchair by the crackling fire. A worn gardening book lays open in my lap, filled with dog-eared pages and notes scribbled in the margins. As I sip my tea, I dreamily flip through the pages, picturing the riot of colors soon to come. Vibrant snapdragons and cheerful marigolds dance through my mind, alongside plump tomatoes and curly kale. Though the garden outside looks dreary and drab now, I know it is simply sleeping under a cozy blanket of rain. Soon it will awaken, stretches its leafy arms wide as the starts peek out from under the soil. Oh, what a wonder it will be when those tiny seedlings push up through the damp earth into the golden sunlight! For now, I will continue to plan and dream by the fire, patiently waiting for the splendor of spring. The garden will come alive in due time, but for today, I am content imagining what will be as the rain ushers in a new season of growth.
